Happy Late Christmas!

Happy belated Christmas! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Did Santa bring you everything on your wish list?

This has been the best holiday I've had in years, for one reason: my goddaughter was released from the hospital.

I haven't been online much over the last few days because my goddaughter has been ill and was taken to a hospital an hour or so away for some tests. I spent most of those few days on the phone with my bestie either crying with her, talking about my goddaughter's condition, and generally worrying about her. It's been really stressful.

I did get to talk to my little one a few times when I called, and she melted my heart by telling me how much she missed me and 'Pop' (my dad).

On Christmas Eve she was released, though I didn't get to see her until today. Seeing her face was what made this holiday the best I have had in years. Her face absolutely lit up when she opened her Cinderella pillow doll.

This morning was spent with my boyfriend and parents. I was more excited to give them their gifts that I didn't touch mine until everyone finished. My parents gave my boyfriend a New Orleans Saints football helmet, which he immediately put on. I can now see game time in our house - boyfriend is going to be on the couch wearing the helmet.

As usual, my father managed to surprise me!

I finally have a camera! I took so many pictures today. I can't wait to get them all on Facebook so I can share them with my family.

Now that I've got a camera, I can start piccin' up my posts!

My boyfriend proved that he had been paying attention to my random lustings and got me a plethora of earrings and a bottle of perfume.

All of these are from the bf, except the small gold hoops, which came from my grandmother.

I am absolutely in love with these! The science nerd in me screams out double helix! I <3 my DNAish earrings.

I love these hoops. I normally wear really large hoops, so small hoops with stones are a refreshing change.

Detail shot. I posted this not only for the details, but because I am still in awe that I finally have an amazing camera that can catch such detail in a close up shot ^.^

Lil'Angel! I have been lusting over this for a while. I am in the process of collecting all of the Harajuku girls. She makes the third girl in my collection, and has now taken her place next to Love an G on my jewelry box.

My mother surprised me as well. She picked out a flat iron for me that does both wet and dry hair. I gave it a test drive today before we went to my boyfriend's father's house for dinner and it is amazing! I got so many compliments on my hair today. My grandmother even asked me if I had colored my hair again.

The kids finally arrived around eleven and we did presents with them. They were all pleased as far as I can tell, especially the boys. Boyfriend custom painted an older iPod mini like a Terrible Towel (Pittsburgh Steelers) for his oldest son. It is very rare for his son to hug him as a thank you, but the moment he opened the box with the iPod he was out of the chair and hugging my boyfriend.

The youngest boy now has more Beyblades than he will ever be able to battle with and is happy as a clam.

I am still not sure what to think about his daughter's attitude. Of course nothing I got her was as awesome as the things her mother got her, nor as awesome as the things her aunt got her, because I didn't spend as much money I suppose. I won't say that it didn't hurt my feelings, nor will I say it doesn't bother me. I just wish she would realize that when you get a gift it isn't about how much it cost, but rather the thought that was put into it. I fear she is becoming too materializtic.

I love everything I was given, even though I didn't need a thing. All I wanted for Christmas this year was for my goddaughter to be home safe and sound. Her being home was enough for me.

I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday. Goodnight!
