Blogmas Day 1: Music

After seeing a post on Lotte's Beauty Box with a cute Christmas tag, I'm going to try it myself! It will also give me inspiration to post every day, something I haven't been doing lately. I'm not a very holiday/Christmasey person so I'm not going to do the same thing she did, talking about traditions and things like that. We have tamales. That is our tradition!

Today's blogmas is all about music! There are so many songs that I hold dear that remind me of being a kid around Christmas, freezing my butt off watching VH1 when they still showed music videos while dad would cook. Mom cooked, but dad's cooking was better. On Christmas they would show a full day of Christmas music. It was amazing!

My father was a musician, so we never had traditional Christmas songs on. It was always something like Paul McCartney or Michael Jackson.

Wonderful Christmastime was always a staple in our house during the holiday season, just like it is a Thanksgiving tradition for us to listen to Alice's Restaurant Massacre by Arlo Guthrie.

As a child of the 80s, no holiday break is complete without Wham!

I used to be so in love with George Michael when I was a kid. He was so cute.

To mix up the pop, there was always Iron Maiden. Once a metal head, always a metal head!

As I grew older and really started to fall in love with drag queens, I discovered Jackie Beat. The following songs may be offensive but they just aren't a holiday for me without them.

We can't forget Katya. This one is a doozie.

To bring things back to normal, another favorite is by The Weather Girls.

What are your favorite Christmas or Holiday songs?
