I've heard a lot of really good things about w2beauty.com, and the owner Alice, so I decided to give the site a try.
I saw a really cool video she posted for a the Too Cool for School Dinoplatz U.F.O., a multibox that has everything you need to get ready in the morning packed into one convenient little box, on youtube. I was instantly intrigued.
This is the video that convinced me that this is something that I needed to add to my collection:
Cool, huh?
After about a two week wait, my package arrived! I was so excited whenever the postman told me I had an international package I needed to sign for. I think I scared him with my little happy dance!
This is what the boxes look like. One is the main compact itself, one is the refill. The refill is a second bb cushion. Next to the product is Alice's card!
This is the compact itself. Simple. Square. Easy to find in a makeup box or a purse.
The side, with the brand name.
Now for the good stuff!
Once you open the product, the first thing you'll see is the sponge.
At this point, I had left the protective cover on the mirror. I did later pull this off.
I love that the sponge has a little place to slip your fingers in so you don't drop it. I'm a clumsy gal, I'm prone to dropping things!
Under the sponge is the bb cushion, sealed away nicely under a little flap to keep it from drying out.
This product has two different tones, one for lighter and one for darker skin. Since I'm rather fair, I chose tone number one.
You don't have to dab the sponge very hard to get product out of the sponge. Very gently. I've also noticed that you don't need much product at all to get great coverage. I have, over the last week, played with building the product in places that may need more coverage than others.
Underneath the compact there is a compartment that slides out, that holds your pore balm/primer, concealer, and lip/cheek color.
I've found the balm and the blusher to be a little dry as you apply, which is no problem - there is nothing worse than a cream that is sticky even after you apply! I suggest only putting the pore balm only on places that are essential. My cheeks are my worst trouble spot for large pores, so that is where I place the largest amount of the pore balm. The rest of my face gets a quick coat as well since I've got terrible pores, just not as much as my cheeks do.
For the curious, this is what the refill comes in. I'm not going to open it yet, of course, since you have to keep bb cushions sealed pretty tight to prevent the product from drying out.
Another thing I found really cool was the goodies she sent in the package! With every order, Alice will send samples and gifts.
I am crazy excited to try the masks! I love sheet masks, I just need my nose to heal before I use them, though ^_^ I have thought about just cutting out one side of the part that goes over the nose. My skin looks silly enough as it is; it looks excellent everywhere but my left nostril. It looks just plain pissed off.
The little package up on the snail mask is a piece of grape candy - it was so good! Green grape is one of my favorite flavors XD
I found this product extremely easy to use, and it's made my morning routine so quick. The only place I don't put it is around my new piercing.
Here are my results!
It covered any breakouts I had and my freckles!
The only suggestion I have for those of you who decide to give this a try is have a balm to cover the lip color. It makes my lips a little dry.
Other than that, I love how much of a natural look this gives. The only thing that needs to be added is a touch of mascara. I haven't even been wearing that lately I've been on such a natural kick.
One of my favorite things about this set is the fact that it doesn't make me feel like I have five pounds of makeup on my face, which can happen with foundations and concealers. It also doesn't make my skin feel oily or gross. After application, my skin has a very nice velvety smooth feeling.
For the compact and refill, it cost me $63.26 USD, but now it is on sale for $58.26 USD, so if you are interested I would say now is the time to buy and save a few bucks.
What's even better is no one could tell I was wearing any kind of makeup! I walked up to several of my friends the first time I tried it and asked what they thought. Of course they responded "what?", and then I did something like this:
I felt like it was mission accomplished!
I highly recommend making purchases from Alice. Not only does she have a great selection of products, great prices, but also provides amazing customer service. I don't think I've ever purchased from a store that has customer service like she provides.
Another great thing is that shipping is free world wide! If you spend over $250, you get free EMS.
While you're there, don't forget to sign up for the newsletter, which will give you first deets on new products and promotions.
Also, like the store's Facebook for cool video demos of products and monthly contests! For the month of April, W2beauty is giving away a Missha Super Aqua Ultra Water-ful gift set valued at $60.34. Go check the page and find out how you can enter to win.
I know this probably sounds sponsored, but it isn't ^_^ I used my very measly tax return this year to make this purchase, and I'm so glad I did.
Overall, this product and store is a total toot.
In the words of Tom from Parks and Rec:
Have you tried this product yet? If you have, what did you think?
Until next time!
I remember when this compact first released! I was dying to try it but I already vowed myself not to buy another bb cushion until my IOPE runs out on me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review :D I'll grab one soon!
I guarantee you'll love it! I've never used a product like this that I've loved so much. I love that the blusher/lippie color is so sheer I don't look like a porcelain doll after putting it on.
