Quick Mani

A few nights ago, I got a bit creative with my China Glaze colors and some plain reinforcers that are used for hole punched paper.

The colors that I used are China Glaze Lighthouse and China Glaze Grape Juice. I originally purchased these colors for my step-daughter to wear to her big brother's high school football games since she's all about school spirit, but I had to try them myself first!

Not the best job in the world, but isn't that what experiments are all about?

Read on to see how the reinforcers came in handy for this look.

First, I put on two coats of Lighthouse. Using only one coat was a bit too sheer so I added a second for a bit more vibrance. The picture doesn't really do it much justice. It's a beautiful golden sunny color.

Once dry, add your reinforcer and add the second color.

I found the same issue with Grape Juice. One coat was too light, two coats was perfect.

While the nail is still wet, peel away your reinforcer.

Once everything is completely dry layer on a top coat (I love Sally Hansen top coats) and away you go!

Mine are really messy since I didn't sit down intending to create something spectacular. I just wanted to figure out something that was easy enough for a ten year old girl to manage with the materials she would have on hand.

Now I really want to play with the reinforcers and see what other designs I can figure out :D

What are your favorite tips and tricks for nail design?

  2. ahh I haven't been to your blog in a while, I hope you've been well! :) And totally creative nail design, I use a similar idea for "tips" by using tape haha. But I've never tried this before! *adds to to-do list*

    1. It has been a while! I hope you've been well, as well!

What sort of tape do you use? I've tried the tape method before but my polish always comes up with the tape T_T

    2. ahah I just use normal scotch tape.. but I cut it narrowly so that there is less room for the polish to come up with the tape when I'm removing it... if that makes any sense :D
